Lantern Parade!

we did it! We joined the big busan lantern parade! And we did it with pride....

You saw the pictures of the happy tinkle fun at the gaonnuri office.... and I guess you saw, that most of the lanterns were pretty not so perfect... like my little butterfly or Robert's puke chamber....

At first we went to the stadion to watch the start ceremony.... there was a big picture of Buddha and all the people in the arena prayed while singing a religious song. Even korean pupils have to go learn about Buddha and the religion, if they were in a buddhist middle school. It is interesting, that there are buddhist schools.... like in my home town there is a catholic kindergarten.... Kids go here in a buddhist school.... 

These pictures were outside the stadium the people had to wait for their big moment... and the stupid foreigners just joined them to take pictures kkkkk

The ceremony was about 2 hours... so all the other groups entered the arena and were celebrated by lots of buddhists and ICEA!

As a snack we had "Rice" and "Rice" and Jacks Birthday cake....kkk

The first group was holding the korean flag....

And even the golden buddha joined the parade! Wuhuuuu!

But these guys were much more popular!

But the interesting thing is what the ICEA members did in the meantime....

And of course we took ICEA group pictures!

After the ceremony we joined all the groups in the arena and had to wait for the start sign.... SO we had fun with other groups... one group played traditional buddhist music... and they wanted some of us to join... and Sophie was the first one... and I was pretty happy, that she didn't refuse... and just danced... so other ICEA members were brave enough to follow.... It was fun int he end... And there was a guy with a really crazy hat! Robert and me had lots of fun watching him and his whip...kkk

Anyway.... we joined and we were the only group with traditional lights... with fire.... so many koreans came over and stare at and in our lanters.... and were very amazed about the fire inside... some of them were afraid and some of them were just amused, that we didn't had electrical lights...

 Haha, always with pride... even if we are forced to wear the nicest west you can find in korea.... 

 Ans suddenly a lost rabbit... poor guy...

 In the end there was a big exhibition.... It reminded me of the festival of lights I visited last year... Even the peacock was the same...kkk

 Afterwards some ICEA members went for dinner in my favorite restaurant... the Duruchigi.... but they didn't had duruchigi... maybe not the form I know... but in the end it was veeeery good!
